    my touch pad mouse that's actually connected to the laptop has stopped working so I don't know how to fix it could you tell me how to fix it please?

    This question should be asked in the Windows Answers Forum at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8.
    Open the Windows Device Manager to check that all the listed devices are properly installed and there's not any error involving your pointing device; maybe it could be necessary to install the driver again, but I sugget you to contact your laptop's manufacturer and ask for assistance.
