USB device blocks the PC (Windows 8) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a big problem with my laptop since I installed Windows 8 pro, when I insert a USB device other than a mouse (keyboard or keypad) it does not work even if it is recognized by Windows. The worst is when I disconnect the device (hardware level: I unplug the USB, Software level: I disconnect the device or uninstall the driver) my PC crashes. No blue screen of death, just the PC is locked and can not unlock it. The only way is to turn it off as a bully and on again.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15r SE 7520 (8GB, I7, ...) In short this is not an old man!

I've tried reinstalling the drivers automatically and manually. The problem is in fact the driver "USB Root Hub (xHCI)" and USB 3.0 eXtensible ...

(FYI, my laptop is only composed of USB 3.0 ... Problem with Windows 8??)

If someone has encountered the same problem and / or that it has a solution (other than reinstalling Windows 7), thank you in advance for the answer!
