Difference between a user @ child BU and @ root BU having System Administrator role RRS feed

  • Question

  • First thing why do we have System Administrator role available at all the child Busiess Units?

Secondly, I don't see a difference between aforementioned two users e.g. user @ child BU with System Administrator role can access all the records across all BUs just like System Administrator at rool BU.

Is my understanding correct and is it expected behaviour?

  • regarding the first question, all the security roles are "replicated" for each BU, this is how CRM is designed.

the second question I think it has to do how CRM handles System Administrator permissions, I suppose (I repeat, suppose) that the Sys Administrator role acts like a flag, so internally the CRM check, it has OK, it doesn't have then check the security permissions of the roles.

So basically also if the user is inside a child BU it has still the "flag" activated
