Course 4326: lab does not launch / VMRC not installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying "Course 4326: An Introduction to Transact-SQL in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (Retired)" using Windows XP SP3, IE 8. This course includes a lab. The lab does not launch. I get the black screen that says the lab is launching and then the following site is displayed

    https://lva.msllab.microsoft.com/msllabs/checkpages/en-US/installVmrc_en-US.htm

It says "To launch this lab, the Virtual Machine Remote Control (VMRC) Advanced ActiveX Control must be installed on your computer." But there's no yellow bar at the top of the Internet Explorer window to install this control. Are there any known issues with IE 8? Is there any other way to install the Virtual Machine Remote Control (VMRC) Advanced ActiveX Control?

    Thanks in advance.
