invalid cursor state error oracl

  Hey guyz,

   

   

  me getting this error when i access database and try to retrieve the data from it using

   

  stmt.executequery("select * from table1");

   

  in java jdbc connectivity, even though i have 20 records in database present in oracle 8i

   

  any one could help me plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
