  • I've been blessed with a copy of WHS by an IT aquaintance.

I've had to search for appropriate hardware for it and because I'm not really used to this kind of shopping around I know some of you helpful guys will look at my list and let me know if its OK and if not make me some suggestions.

    Here we go:

    Cooler - Zalman-CNPS7500ALCU-LED-CPU-Fan £18.45

The hardware you listed will run WHS.

The minimum hardware requirements for WHS are, 1 GHz CPU, 512 RAM, 80 gig HDD

  • Thanks Richard

You don't see any problems then?  Would you change anything?

You can get that case (a good case, I've used one for a system before) on offer with Coolermaster 460W PSU in a budle for £42.99 from ebuyer: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136200 which is a pretty decent saving on your spec.

The rest is fine.  You could go for a board with more SATA ports, but to be honest there no great need as 4 will be find for now and PCI or PCIe SATA cards with 2003 drievrs are cheap when you need them.

With 2 drives, do beware the data corruption bug.
