  • Question

  • Hi

I am planning to write 70-562 Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Application Development. Is there any prerequisites for this exam. Should i complete 70-536? is that mandatory?

Also the heard that the exam is available in both C# as well as VB.net. If i choose Vb.net then  all questions will be in vb.net or will that be in C# too? Is there any option to switch between C# and VB.net?

    Thanks

    Srinivas Jay(MCTS SqlServer 2008)

  • Hi,

the 70-536 is only a prerequisite to get the MCTS certification. But you can do the exam 70-562 without it (but you do not earn the MCTS certificate till you also took the other exam!).

You have to decide which language you want BEFORE taking the exam. Once the exam is started, you cannot switch. So if you choose VB, all will be in VB and you will not see any c# code in questions or answers.

You might also think about looking at 70-515 instead. Then you only need one exam to get the MCTS certification and you will get the certification that is up to date.

    With kind regards,

    Konrad

  • Hey Shrinivas,

You must select only one language and stick to it till end of exam.(Either C# or VB.NET).

I would like to suggest go for 70-515 instead 70-562, because its a latest one.

    Please, visit http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-515

All the best for exam. :)

  • Hi,

where did you find, that 70-536 is expired? Regarding the page
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-536&locale=en-us
    it is not expired.

    And regarding
    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab3
it is still a requirement to do the 70-536 for any MCTS exam targeting Visual Studio 2008:
"Each MCTS certification on Visual Studio 2008 requires that you pass Exam 70-536: TS: Microsoft .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation in addition to the exam related to the certification that you want to pursue. You only need to pass this exam once"

    With kind regards,

    Konrad
