My Windows is Genuine, But now it says its not RRS feed

  • Question

  • Today I did a required system update (system shutdown etc).  I turned it back on, and I had a static noise..which I've had for a while, but I haven't installed the driver to fix it yet. But anyway, I had a message that said Windows is not genuine.  I recently also came off from doing a system restore, which I've been doing a lot more recently because my PC keeps freezing, and I occasionally get a BSD, where I'll do a system repair, then probably another system restore.   I believe my HD might be faulty. So I get this message that says my Windows is not genuine after the last install.  I ran Windows activation update, which it recommended, then it said that it could not verify it was genuine.  I then downloaded and ran MGADiag, exe and I tried to continue to the website, but it keeps saying I have a certificate error which I cant get past because I don't even have the option to trust certificate and continue.  I also noticed that the time on my clock was off by a couple of days, which I fixed.  But then after the install, it was off by three years. I have not done any modifications to my system.  I have had this computer since 2010.

  • The problem is that your system is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table that should be present in the system to be able to self-activate the OS.

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.
