"homeserverconsoletab.topstandard.dll" Error Message RRS feed

  • Question

  • "The previous attempt to open the windows home server console was unsuccesfull because there was a problem with the following file: HomeServerConsole.TOPSTANDARD.dll. If the problem persist please uninstall the add-in associated with this file and try again."

"Resources required to load the Home Server AddIn were not available."  This message appears in an "Unable to add McAfee Total Protection Windows Home Servger Addin" window.

How do I completely remove McAfee from WHS on an Acer Easy Stor WHS.  It is not listed as an Add-In.  The McAfee page in the WHS Console is blank.

  • I believe other users have logged in to their servers using remote desktop and uninstalled McAfee through Add/Remove Programs.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Ken, this error came up after I updated the server to the last WHS update. What do you think caused this?  And why was McAffee affected by the update?  i.e. What was in the update that affected McAfee and will it affect anything else?  Joel
