    I’d like to suggest that the editing of posts is not allowed after a reply has been made. This will force the poster to make a new post rather than causing confusion by changing the original. I have been caught out many times when this has happened and, in a few instances, the issue bears little resemblance to the original problem.

    that is what the Quote button is for.

    One shouldn’t have to ‘Quote’ every post, as it doubles the length of the thread, like you just have!
