Error Messages still there after downloading Genuine Office 2007 from Microsoft site.

After discovering an non-genuine version of Office 2003, I took the steps to rectify this on the Microsoft website, uninstalled Office 2003 andpurchased installed Home and Student 2007. However, I am still getting 'version does not match' error messages when I open Excel or Word documents.

Hello Helen12,
Thank you for taking the time and going to the expense of Getting Genuine with your installation of Microsoft Office 2007 :-)
Since your Office H&S 2007 installation is reporting as a Genuine installation of a retail license, there is no issue with it being Genuine or not.
The error message you are seeing is normally seen only when Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager is installed on the computer. Your mgadiag report is not showing such an installation at the moment. Do you have Business Contact Manager (BCM) installed on the computer now? Please check your Programs listing in Control Panel for the program "Business Contact Manager" and if it's there, please uninstall it, restart the computer, and then use Word or Excel in the manner that previously generated the error messages to see if uninstalling BCM took care of the issue.
Did you have Outlook with BCM installed on the computer at one time? If so, maybe some remnant of that installation is still present. There is a patch to correct the condtion that generates the error message, but I cannot say for sure if it will work for your situation because you do not currently have Outlook installed. Please visit this page at the Microsoft Downloads web site. From the description on the page, it's worth a try to see if it will install and then fix the problem.

Hi Darin
Thank you so much! It worked! There was BCM installed, I just removed it. There was no Outlook. So all fixed now! :-)
