Email Router & Server Name (Office 365) RRS feed

  • I am trying to configure the incoming and outgoing profile for the email router. We use CRM 2011 on-premise and Exchange Online (office 365). I understand from several resources that the outgoing profile is https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx. However, I am struggling with the incoming profile. I found the following link:

    I did a get-mailbox to get the information for all mailboxes. To my surprise the ServerName is

    xxxpr08mbyyy

    From the above post I understand I should use xxx, i.e. xxxpr08.mailbox.outlook.com. However, there are several different xxx. Does that mean I have to create multiple input profiles and with that multiple Deployments? There must be a way around this because each time I create a new email account I might have to create a new input profile and Deployment.

  • You should be able to find this in your exchange settings:

    a. Sign in to the Office 365 portal. 
    b. Click Outlook to open Microsoft Outlook Web App. 
    c. In the upper-right corner of the page, click the Help icon (the question mark), and then click About. 
    d. On the About page, locate and then note the Host address.

  • Paul, thanks for the reply. I found similar instructions that you mentioned on many places. However, there is no "About". When clicking on the question mark I get Help, Privacy notice and Feedback. I finally got it when I executed a new-possession in powershell. The redirect notice mentioned the URL.

  • I would make sure you have the latest UR applied to the router and then try to use autodiscover. Then you wont need to know the URL.

    I have seen where users in the same company have been configured on different servers.
