  • Hello andrewgalpin,

    Sorry, I was sidetracked by the other post! :-)

    Anyway, here is a snippet from your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
    Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0

    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1_E2AD56EA-765-d003_E2AD56EA-766-0_E2AD56EA-134-80004005

    The installation of Office Enterprise 2007 that is installed on your Acer computer is an edition of Office that is properly sold only thru the Volume Licensing program to businesses, educational institutions and governmental agencies.  This installation was done with an invalid Product Key made by a pirating program known as a Key Generator.  The product key was NOT issued by Microsoft, making it Invalid.

    If your use of the installed Office Enterprise 2007 is in association with a business, educational institution, or governmental agency that might have a Volume Licensing Agreement with Microsoft, please report this nongenuine problem to your organization's IT support staff for further troubleshooting and resolution.

    If you are an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing materials such as VL discs, and you certainly should not have received an Invalid Product Key.  Quite often people purchase what is advertised and packaged as a retail license for Office Professional 2007, but all too often, the product they receive is a counterfeit Office package that installs a nongenuine copy of Office Enterprise 2007 or nongenuine copy of Office Professional Plus 2007.

    Your first course of action is to confront the seller of your Office Enterprise 2007 with this information and demand a full refund.  Please do not accept any offer of sending you a product key to be used with software downloaded from Microsoft as a correction of the problem, because it is likely the product key they will email to you will turn up as a nongenuine product key, too.  If the seller refuses to refund your money, please pursue whatever remedies are available to you thru the selling venue, your payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc), or the legal system in your area.

    Also, depending upon whether you received "high quality" counterfeit materials, you may qualify for the Office Complimentary Offer or for the Office Genuine Advantage discounted offer.  Please see the FAQ here:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en#ID0EKNAC  If you decide to participate in the Office Genuine Offer, please initiate the process by clicking on the "Learn More Online" link shown in the nongenuine notices on your screen.

  • Hello harrysop,

    Your computer has a Volume license for XP Pro installed.  At the moment this is reporting as genuine, but it is only really genuine if this installation of Windows on this computer is being used by the organization (usually a larger business, educational or governmental organization) that holds the current, valid Volume License for the Volume Licnesing Key that was used to do the installation.

    Your computer has a Volume license for Office XP installed.  This installation was done with a nongenuine Blocked Volume Licensing Key.

    This is a form of piracy known as "hard disk loading" where the computer seller assembles the parts into a computer and then just loads volume licenses for Windows and Office.  Typically you do not get any sort of documentation for Windows or Office and you almost never get Certificate of Authenticity for Windows or Office nor do you get genuine Microsoft hologrammed instalaltions discs for Windows or Office.

    If your agreement with the seller specifically states that they will preinstall genuine Office and Windows, they did not, so return to them and treat the situation just as if they promised you a hard disk drive and did not supply it.

    If your agreement with the seller does not specifically state that they will preinstall genuine Office and Windows, then you are probably out of luck as they will claim they installed what you have as a "courtesy" and they "thought" you "understood" that if you wanted genuine software you would buy it for yourself.
