Unable to create new Workflows and open WFs in draft state RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We recently upgraded from CRM 2011, to CRM 2016 (one version at a time).

Since then, when I try to create new blank WF, I get - 'Process Error, This custom process step is not valid'.

However, WF gets created in draft state, which I can activate and access. It, of course, has no steps.

The same goes when I try to open existing WFs in draft state.

So the problem seems to be the draft state of the WF.

I've read the problems with dll versions, but no one seems to be experiencing the error on new blank WF.

    Any suggestions?

    Kind regrads,

  • Hello,

It might be related to versioning of the assembly that contains the custom workflow activites.

    Found the below articles..

Please let me know if these help.

    Thanks,
