CRM deployment to multiple servers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Our CRM configuration now contains 3 servers (1 with al CRM components, 1 for SharePoint and 1 with AD).
If we want to split our current "CRM server" to 2 servers (one for sql and one for CRM), what is the best approach for this?
Add 2 new servers and install SQL on server 1 and CRM on server2? And Then copy the database form our old server?

Or are there better ways? Thanks!

  • Hi Alexander,

not much changed since CRM 4 in terms of a mscrm_config database and a <orgname>_mscrm database. You could leave the appserver as it is and create a new SQL server and follow this article.

    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/952934

if fresh application installation on a new app server, you can import the <organization>_mscrm database.

    first option may be easier.
