Installing CRM 2011 on Windows Server 2012 psosible?

Question
-
I saw this article and I also read about a year ago that it wasn't supported but is this still the case?
http://danielcai.blogspot.com/2012/05/install-crm-2011-on-windows-server-8.html
We meet all of the prereqs and this is the error that comes up in the middle of the install:
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

During the install, did you select to download the updates from Microsoft? You likely need to get the self-healing hotfixes for the install bits so that it knows how to install on Windows Server 2012.
You will see options to get updates in 2 different locations. The first is for the self-healing hotfixes and the other is for getting the rollup updates.

I see! In that case does anyone know why we might be running into this error? It doesn't hit the event viewer... We have tried downloading the install and running into the same issue.Tuesday, February 25, 2014 1:45 PM
