Restoring Outlook Files from a Recovery Backup

  I am running Windows 8 and had an issue with my PC. Before using the System Recovery functionality, I used System Recovery to backup my files and e-mail.  I can locate the folder on which these were saved.  What I need help with is guidance on how to get my backed up e-mail files onto my new version of Outlook.
