Notes aren't taken as modifications RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've noticed that adding a note to a lead under CRM 4, doesn't count as a modification of the record. We sort our leads in CRM by last modified and I can see that adding a note doesn't place the lead modified at the top of the table.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • You can do this via a workflow - Add a "Last Note" date field to your Opportunity or Contact record - (or whatever record you're interested in.)

Then create a rule on the Note entity -

Start when a record is created / modified.

Configure the step to update the Last note field on the Regarding(Opportunity) or Regarding(Contact), etc

  • By the way - the workflow when fired will update the 'Last Note' and the "Last Modified" fields.

  • I've had troubles in the past with this approach with the workflow complaining it could not find the parent record (yes the regarding entity was set correctly). Has this been fixed in a rollup?

  • I don't see where this was ever answered.  Is anyone aware if the above can be done?

    Thank you.
