Customized System Entity security setting RRS feed

    Is it possible in CRM 4.0 to make certain customized Tab pages in the System Entity available for some user and not available for other user depending on security settings.


    For example:


    I have added one " custom Tab" page in "Account" form and I do not want all of the CRM user see that " new custom Tab page".


    Is it possible to make that tab page available for certain users like "Managers" and not available for other users.


    I tried all the available combination of security setting but did not work.


    Any help would be appreciated.

  • It's not possible to hide tabs based on security roles using out-of-the-box functionality, but you can use some onLoad script to do a webservice call to check a user's role, and if they don't have the right role, use script to hide the tab. This won't prevent users from being able to print the form and view the contents of the tab though.
