How do I remove constant request to install Windows 10? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I have Windows 8 and do not like it, however, I do not want Microsoft having access to everything on my computer, and am not tech savvy enough to set up W. 10 so it doesnt.

Please tell me how to remove the constant requests to install Windows 10, which I have to delete maybe 30 times a day.

    Many thanks

  • Wrong forum as this is for Windows Home Server, but this works for a while:

Kill the GWX process using task manager

Rename the GWX folder in Windows, System 32 to something like GWX_Old

Hide the W10 update in "Windows Update".

This works for a while until it recreates a new GWX folder and you have to start again!
