Vista Ultimate WGA-Validation-Error 0xC004C4A6 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit) german System Builder (OEM), it was not shipped with my PC.

I activated my license several times, but always when I try to download WGA-protected files in the Microsoft download pool, the WGA check fails with error code 0xC004C4A6. After that, even the MGADiag says "invalid license".

I have called the Microsoft support in Germany several times, they called me back, gave me some hints and advised, I went to my software dealer and told him the problem, they installed my vista version on a test pc and there was no problem - the same evening, I tried to install and activate my vista on my laptop aswell, and there it worked without problems... (I removed Vista from my laptop again)

I reinstalled Vista, did a complete clean install, even without Windows Update, the first thing I did was activating, then running the WGA diags on microsoft.com/genuine but it failed... I don't know what to do... I talked at least 3 hours with the german support, I searched in the internet for some information, I read all related topics to that case, but I cannot find a solution...

    My current MGADiag report is:

To resolve this issue you will need to phone to activate and speak with a customer service agent when you’re given the option.  You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4" in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter.  The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.

If you’ve tried phone activation and you're still reaching the same validation failure page (with error code 0xC004C4A6), please open a free service request by visiting: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860 and post your confirmation number here.  I'll contact you directly so we can figure out the cause of your issue.  Thank you!

  • I reactivated my Windows via phone but it didn't solve the problem.

I started a started a service request via mail - accidentally I did it twice - the numbers are SRZ070510001124 and SRZ070510001133 - you can delete one request. I have also two service requests via phone with the german support, the numbers are SRQ070320600925 and SRQ070314601602.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks for the confirmation numbers. I didn't realize you were in Germany.  Can you tell me the name of the support agent who contacted you for either SRZ070510001124 or SRZ070510001133 ?  Thank you!

  • The requests numbers starting with SRZ are mail requests and I didn't speak to a support agent about these requests yet, but I will inform you in that case.

But I can tell you two agents concerning the two other requests, if that helps...

The agent from the activation support (SRQ070314601602) was Hakan Ersöz, e-mail: v-42hake (at) mssupport.microsoft.com, the agent from - I'm not completely sure - the WGA support (SRQ070320600925) was Thomas Rizzo, e-mail: v-42thr (at) mssupport.microsoft.com.

If there is anything else I can do to help solving the problem, yust let me know...

    Thanks

  • Ok, the support agent who replied on both SRZ-numbers is Ralf Dahlhoff.

He asked me to reenter my product key ("slmgr -upk" / "slui 4") and then reactivate by phone (again "slui 4") but it didn't solve the problem.

  • Unfortunately, I only have direct access to service requests that were started in the US, so I'm going to contact Ralf to ask for you contact information.  I don't anticipate him getting back to me before the weekend.  Please be assured that I will respond as soon as I can on Monday.  Thank you!
