PWA "PDP": can you have a field label different than the field name?

Good day, currently in the process of implementing EPM2010, and am in the process of defining the contents & layouts of the PDP's to be used to create entries to the portfolio. My question is: is it possible, by using the Microsoft provided tools/native EPM features/sharepoint page editor, to modify the "the display name / label" of fields on the PDP's so that they can be different than the "actual field names"?

Hi,

As far as I know, not using the OOB Project Field webpart. This thread does discuss some options to changing the name but does have some limitations http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-PH/project2010custprog/thread/03d2b234-85de-4d1b-974a-f96a3297b0fb

Other options may be:

to use Javascript or JQuery on the page to change them dynamically at render time, but this could easily get messy from an admin perspective
write your own webpart that provides this capability
name the fields as you wish them to be seen on the PDP.
