Windows 8 WHS V1 : TV Archive doesn't work RRS feed

    Noticed that in Windows 8 the TV archive feature fails to work (Windows Media Center TV Archive Transfer Service fails to start ; manual attempt to start also fails)

    This is about WHS V1 (NOT 2011!) and Windows 8 (not about any other combination and not looking for "might work" / "this fixes it in WHS 2011" etc. suggestions)

    All works fine with Windows 7 and WHS V1 is updated with all available updates.

    Any idea?

    I too am having this problem.  Trying to start the service manually says that it stopped automatically, and that some services only run when a program uses them.
