  • Question

  • Hi there.

My name is Praveen. I am planning to do Microsoft certification. I am totally confused which one to take.

I have enquirer few institutions, some of them are telling to take MCITP 70-640TS,  MCITP 70-642TS,  MCITP 70-646Pro.

And some of them are telling to take MCSA 410, 411, 412. I have checked and see that MCITP certificate is expired now.

Could you please guide me through about this, I am totally confused.

I would like to go with the market scope and trend, Also I would like to know if 2008 server is still dominating in industry and how much time it will take companies to upgrade compeletely to 2012 server.

    Waiting for a early reply

    Regards,

    Praveen A

Yes, the MCITP certification has been superseded by the newer MCSA/MCSE certifications. But if you wish to get certified in Windows Server 2008, the combination of 640, 642 and 646 will give you a MCSA on Server 2008 (not a MCITP).

However, at this time it is probably better to pursue a more recent certification. Unless for some specific reason you need to maintain old servers, I would recommend to get the newer MCSA on Server 2012 by means of 410, 411 and 412.
