Windows 7 non-genuine issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased a Dell Computer from Best Buy with Vista loaded on it in July of 2009. I was told I would get updated to Windows 7. After  I finally got the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the mail. I loaded it and everything has worked just fine. The problem is that some time later I started receiving messages saying I wasn't running genuine Windows 7. I received this upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 directly from Microsoft. I have spent a lot of money on this computer and now have had to put up with what has become a very irritating pop up telling me I am not running genuine Windows 7. If the disc I was sent isn't genuine, why did Microsoft sent it to me???

If there is something wrong, it was caused by someone at Microsoft and I would appreciate not being harrassed anymore with the pop up.
