link to an existing form? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a custom MS CRM solution, is there a way to link to an existing standard form in MS CRM? Example, I may wish to link from my application to an account form, giving it the correct parameters in the QueryString for MS CRM to use and open. Is this possible at all?

    So I may have a custom solution which brings up a "summary" of accounts for example, but when the user double clicks on it, I want to be able to open up the standard MS CRM accounts form so they can view details about that account.

    Thanks

  • Check out the "URL Addressable forms" in the SDK.

    Using the HTML link:

    <a href=“http://<server name>/sfa/accts/edit.aspx”> create a new account>

    or

    http://<server name>/SFA/accts/edit.aspx?id={1F8B6FC0-426A-4122-BAC2-A05B6071FC57}”> open an existing account>

    Using the "Window () Open" method you can have more precise control over the window:

    <input

      type =‘button’

      name =‘btnNewAccount’

      value = ‘Create a new Account’

      onclick = “window.open(‘http://<server name>

      /sfa/accts/edit.aspx’, ‘_blank’,

      ‘height=500 width=800 left=100 top=100’

      ‘resizable’, ‘false’);”
