How to report a serial number

  A friend of mine was offered a 10 licences pack of windows xp pro, when he got the package, received a burnt CD and a printed "serial number", just to check, went to google and checked for the first ten digits and got hundreds of sites signaling the full 25 digits of his "supposed original" windows XP, is there a way to report such number for microsoft to prevent the use of such number?
