  • Perhaps beginning to learn Server 2008?  If you're doing self-study using MS Press books, keep in mind that they haven't been updated to include the needed information on R2.

  • It really depends what you're trying to acheive. There are several different routes you might take depending on where you want to end up.

Are you part of an organisation trying to acheive a particular Partner Competency? In which case, looking at the Partner Network site to look up the required competency exams would be a good idea. Both the 680 and 685 exams count towards the Silver Desktop Competency. To qualify towards the Gold Competency, you'd need to get the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 qualification. To get this, you need exams 70-680 and 70-686.

So going for 70-686: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator might be a good idea.

Alternatively, if you're looking to support users, it might be worth looking at some of the Office exams - the Microsoft Office Specialist exams.

Or there are various support qualifications around the server products as well.

It all depends where your interest lies.
