This computer is not running genuine Windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Several of the laptops in my office are suffering from intermittent 'Windows is not genuine' messages. Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting this solved?

As per some instructions in other threads, I've run sfc /scannow as an administrator which completed and says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them", and has output a log to the laptops %WINDIR%\Logs\CBS folder which I can attach if that will assist.

Posts in other threads suggest that if it really wasn't genuine the users would be getting the black screen messages every hour, but it's certainly not being reported that often if it is. The laptop I have at the moment had one message yesterday, and another one today.

The message is currently on screen now so I've run the MGADiag.exe tool and have the following output:

Your problem stems from the multiple File Mismatch errors – and is probably the result of a bad set of drivers from Dell, or Intel.

Download and install the latest set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers – that should clear up the problem.
