error: no radio discovered RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I had strange issue with a program called HwVeri.exe. When I ran HwVeri.exe, I got message like Error: no radio discovered.

Another thing I have discovered but no sure if it could be helpful. I ran command dut info before and after I ran HwVeri.exe, the Radio mask in the output were different.

    Before HwVeri.exe: 0X00

    After HwVeri.exe: 0Xff

    Thanks in advance

  • HwVeri will start each radio, so the radio mask will change from 0 to 1.

For the error message, it's possible that the drivers are not correctly started. You may try disabling and enabling them (Sora Radio Manager driver, and HW Test driver).

Open device manager, you will find both drivers:

        1) Sora PCIE Card --> Sora Radio Manager 250MHZ 4X for PCIE board

        2) Network Adapters --> Microsoft Sora HW Test Ethernet Adapter

Check if there's any exclamatory mark showing that the driver has not been started correctly.

For driver disabling and enabling, please do that in order,

        Disable: 2, 1

        Enable: 1, 2

Also, could you please provide more infomation? Like which os you are using (XP/Win7/Win8), and the driver version.

    Thx.

  • The OS is Windows 7 64 bit and the PC is shuttle PC. It has SoraSDK 2.0 installed.

I did enable and disable them several times. It always gave me the same error message. In fact, I have tried all three Sora boards, but none of them is working. The failure is identical for all three of them.

Also, I have ran HwVeri.exe under these three different cases,

Case 1, unplug the entire Sora kit

Case 2, plug in the entire Sora kit

Case 3, plug in the Sora kit and take out the radio front end (our radio front end is WBX board)

HwVeri.exe  produced the same error message for all three cases. (Error, no radio discovered)

What other information do you need?

    Thanks

  • The same problem I happened today.

I have ran HwVeri.exe before I do these steps

1.press "F8" when starting up or reboot  and then into safe mode.

    2.select “Disable driver signature ...”.

3.enable the “Microsoft Sora HW Test Ethernet Adapter” driver.

Forgive my broken English and hope it helps you out.
