Response Group Contact Issue

Question
-
I created a response group using rgscot.exe. The call was not working as expected so I went looking for the contact in AD. It is nowhere to be found. I found a post that said it should be in AD in System - Microsoft - RTC Service - Application Contacts. However, the RTC Service container is not there. I remember during the deployment being asked the question where I would like to store the config and I chose the configuration container. So I opened adsiedit and found the container there but with no contact.
I know the contact exists because the line uri is active. also when I try to create another ad user with that same uri, it tells me it already exists. Can anyone offer some advise? Thanks in advance.Friday, September 25, 2009 5:41 PM

hi
You can use the search tool in the ADUC,
the procuce is below:
start -> administrative tool -> ADUC -> left click the Find objects in Active Directoy Domain Service -> set the find=default and set the in=entire directory and set "name"=ContactName(that you have created) -> find now
You all find the contact then.

Hi
The contacts you create can be found in the ‘Application Contacts’ container in AD. Its DN is typically/by default something likeCN=Application Contacts,CN=RTC Service,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=contoso,DC=com
or
CN=Application Contacts,CN=RTC Service,CN=System,DC=contoso,DC=com
but that depends on which partition you have chosen to install OCS in AD initially.

I am storing the info in the configuration container. However, under Application Contacts there are only random CNs like CN={4CE56946-6797-4BB3-8B12-E68E96C0FE56}, not the name off the actual contact.Monday, October 19, 2009 5:13 PM
