TOSHIBA Laptop, with Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Home Edition RRS feed

  • Back in November 2006, Purchased Toshiba Satellite 115-S-1061, with


    Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Installed.


    Purchased from Best Buy in Kenner LA.


    Had 1 problem after another.


    Brought to GEEK SQUAD at Best Buy, the Wouldn't honor their Extenede Warraty,


    and Subsequently, Disabled the Computer.


    Error Message reads<Windos root>\system32\hal.dll.


    Please reinstall a copy of the above file.


    Seeing How I'm NOT a Tech, I've tried F12, F8, F2 F,10.


    Tried the Recovery Disc, that came with the Computer (TOSHIBA), TO NO AVAIL..


    OTHER THAN THIS BEING A very expensive (doorstop), this computer is worthless to


    Me NOW.


    Is there a way I can Purchase a Copy, or NEW Installation Disc, from Microsoft, or


    Other Vendor so I can Install, Validate and use this Very Expensive, Piece of  Hardware?


    Very Laptop-less
