Genuine Win7 with black screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Win7 with 2gb ram, 500gb HD.

Until yesterday had no problem with win7 validation issue. Had downloaded Nuance PDF reader and LittlePDF, plus there were  Windows/IE9 9 updates downloaded and installed.

Suddenly the screen had a black background with the Non genuine win7 message.

The short version of the steps taken is Win7 currently shows as a Licensed copy but the screen background remains black.

Also note I have reviewed "Black screen - copy of Windows not Genuine ???? of June 3,2012" and verified this copy of the OS is genuine following the steps indicated in that thread.

How do I get rid of the black screen?

    Thank you.

  • To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
     Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

If you are no longer getting notifications, then you may simply need to use the Personalize option to reset the background on the desktop.
