SyncToy 2.0 Beta on Windows 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to get SyncToy, either 1.4 or 2.0, to run as a scheduled task on Windows 2008.  However, when I try to call a specific folder pair it does not work.

My command is the path to the synctoycmd.exe plus the -R switch.  So it looks like this in Task Scheduler:

    "C:\Program Files\SyncToy 2.0 Beta\SyncToyCmd.exe" -R"Documents Backup"

If I try running that scheduled task manually, by selecting "Run Task", nothing happens.  I can take the same command and run it as a batch file, so I know the command and arguments work.  I tried creating scheduled task that called my batch file, but that failed to run as well.  If I drop the folder pair name it works.

My plan was to setup Automatic folder synchronizations on different schedules by name.  Some of what I need to backup only needs to be completed once per day, where others should be completed every 15 minutes.  For now I'm running the synch every hours for everything.  It works well, but I'd rather setup different schedules if I could.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.
