Note that your computer seems to have two installations of Office 2007.

The installation in bold type above is a nongenuine installation of a Volume Licensing edition of Office Enterprise 2007, and that installation was done with a now-blocked Volume Licensing Key.  This installation is what is causing you to be shown the nongenuine Office alerts.

The installation in italics above is a retail license installation of Office Professional 2007 that has not yet been activated.

    Here's what to do:

    1.  From the Programs applet of the Control Panel, uninstall the nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007.
    2.  Restart the computer twice.
    3.  Click Start>All Programs>Microsoft Office Professional and open one of the programs, say, Word 2007.
    4.  At this point you should see the Activation Wizard.  Choose the option to activate Office online and follow the prompts.
    5.  If you are not presented with the Activation Wizard, click the Office button, then Word Options, then Resources, then Activate Office.  Follow the prompts to do an online activation.
    6.  Once activated, restart the computer.
    7.  Open up Internet Explorer and navigate to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button.  This will clear the OGA Notifier cache and should Validate your Office Professional 2007 retail license installation.
    8.  Run Windows Update to get your Office installation up to date.
    9.  Post back here to let us know how you do.

  • Hello Richalbury,

Try the "FixIt" in this MS KB article, it is written to automatically uninstall Office 2007 when it won't uninstall from the ControPanel applet:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179/

    Keep us posted :-)

  • Hello Richalbury,

In Outlook 2007, navigate to Tools, Options, Other tab, Advanced Options button and look for the sixth checkbox to disable InfoPath forms.

Your late installation of Office Enterprise 2007 has InfoPath as a component while the retail licenses of Office Professional 2007 do not; a normal installation of Office Professional 2007 will have this checkbox but it will be greyed out.  Apparently the rough-and-tumble uninstallation we did of Enterprise left this little remnant for us to clean up.

Let us know if that does the trick :-)
