SqlMetadataStore.OpenStore throws MetadataStorageEngineException RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to open a mdf file (a SQL Server 2008 Express database located under C:/Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server/MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS/MSSQL/DATA/), which does not yet contain any tables. For this, I' using SqlMetadataStore.OpenStore(MetadataFilePath), but this throws an exception of type MetadataStorageEngineException (containing an InnerException System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException). Because the exception message is german, I can give you only my translation of it: "Error during a memory module action: Error code 25035 (HRESULT = ...)".

Can you help me solving this problem? How can I create a metadata store in a database without having this exception?

  • SqlMetadataStore.OpenStore can not open SQL Server 2008 database file.  Do you have SQL Server Management tools installed?  If so you can try to use Attach this database by the MDF file.

    Thanks.

  • Yes, SQL Server Management tools is installed and I know this option Attach. But how is it useful?

Also, can you please tell me which types of files are accepted by methods CreateStore and OpenStore?
