Forum, I just tried to validate my Windows XP software on an old (purchased in 2001 directly from HP loaded with Windows XP) desktop computer which I imported (legally) from the USA to Costa Rica. However, when I go through the validation process I am rejected because my software isn't valid in this region! How can Microsoft reasonably expect me not to use and transport my laptops and desktops between my homes in two different regions? Can they legally require me to buy a separate license for a machine, like a laptop that I use in multiple regions? That seems absurd and unfair to me. If Microsoft does not require me to buy another license, how do I overcome this restriction in the validations process? I am presently in Costa Rica, and would like to stop these annoying messages. Thx, Zeke
