Chaning Project Owners Errror

Question
-
We are running PS 2010 with SP1
I’m the business admin user and I am in the process of changing some project owners around and to get the records of project ownership right and one of these project is now transferred to me when I go to change the ownership over to me, I get a “An error has occurred when saving your project to the server. Please contact your administrator for assistance.”
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hello Noel,
I would like to start from :
1. Try to setup other project Manager as Owner & see if that works.
2. If that Works, that means you might be having issue iwth the Resource account setup. Make sure the project manager you are setting up as owner, is active & few check . The names that appear on the Owner field pick list are users who have the New Project permission. Specifically, these are users in the Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Administrators groups.
3. Alos, as Ashish, will publish the project & then see everything works from Manage Queue side, change the owner.

HI,
Please validate the Project has been checked out or not.
Before changing the ownership of the project, try to save and publish from MS Project 2010.
If it get successfully published the project, check in the project and then try to change the ownership of the project.
Steps :
1. Click on Project Center
2. Edit Properties
3. Changed Ownership
4. Open the Project Plan in MS Project, Insert the Column called Status Manager and chage the ownership with new one
5 Save and publish.
