Web Services API!!! RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • The existence of a Web Services API for SharedView would allow mashups and integration with other products, portals and orchestrated applications and business processes.

Consider an approval process that progresses from author to supervisor to manager to director to VP to EVP.  At each step of the way (automatically) the BPM software could request available time from the next in line and when responded setup a SharedView on the document in the flow.  The author and previous approvers would be invited.

Could be done today if you discount things like document attributes, taxonomy and categorization that might be needed along that approval workflow route.

Give me a Web Services API to SharedView and I can make it happen.

  • EasyOllie,

Thanks very much for the suggestion and scenario summary.  The team is investigating and prioritizing for future releases.  From an API perspective, we would like to enable any developer to integrate SharedView into their application quickly and easily.
