  • You can modify the field label width for a section and this will apply to all the fields in the section. The default is 115 pixels, after which the label will wrap.

    Hope this helps?

  • Hi Neil,

What I need is to display a long sentence as the field label..  maybe I am apporaching this the wrong way.  I need to make a questionnaire in  a CRM form.

The problems I am experiencing are: the field label has # of pixel or words constrainst. The 2nd issue is that the label wraps.

  • Hi Sam, if you need to display a phrase instead of just a label here's another idea: Hide the field label, and put each field in it's own section. Use the section title as a label for the field. The section title can be as wide as the form, so it can usually accommodate more text than a field label.

There are other techniques, but most of them involve writing JavaScript. Or you can buy some of the questionnaire add-ons available for CRM 4.0 if you need sophisticated questionnaire features.

  • Hi Neil,

Can you please explain how to use Javascript in this situation.

  • I'm not a JavaScript developer, so I'm unable to write the code for you, but you could try an internet search to find useful stuff that smarter people than me have published.

Here's one example from Adi Katz (one of the meanest CRM developers and bloggers I know!) http://mscrm4ever.blogspot.com/2008/08/convert-text-field-to-label.html

    Hope this helps.
