CRM 4 Outlook client Mandatory updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM could not be applied successfully RRS feed

  • After installing CRM 4 Rollup 15 new Outlook clients can't connect to CRM with error "Mandatory updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM could not be applied successfully"

    - CRM client was working before Rollup 15

    - Internet Explorer configured correctly (trusted site, integrated authentication, etc) CRM is working fine via URL

    - CRM is configured for IFD + On Premise.  IFD (external) is working for clients but On Premise is not.  DNS is setup correctly internally and externally (IDF resolved correctly, etc)

    - CRM server loses IFD configuration after reboot post Rollup 15

    - This is not a proxy environment

    - Specs: Server 2008 R2, CRM 4 Rollup 15, SQL 2008 SP2 (single server setup)

    - Reports internally and externally are working

    - Could this be a web config problem?

    Client Error: Mandatory updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM could not be applied successfully

    WER Error: Sig[3].Value=Client found response content type of 'text//html', but expected 'text//xml'
