Slipstreaming CRM4 Client hotfixes RRS feed

  • Question

Anyone got updates slipstreamed into the installation of the CRM 4 Client?

I don't wanna use the AutoUpdate, because it requires Administrative Privileges on the local machine.

I tried to slipstream to the source folder, to an administrative install, all without luck?

    msiexec /a [crm]client.msi /p c:\KB948008\Client_i386.msp

    Doesn't work.

    Any tips are welcome.

    Hi Imran,

    thanks for your response.

The question arised when trying to slipstream, because the AutoUpdate functionality of CRM4 requires local administrator rights (How the @#$ could they thought of that!) The idea of AutoUpdate is great, but it should work without local Administrator rights.

We wanted to slipstream the updates, so we can start with a almost up-to-date installation.

If a client wants a client installation I don't wanna tell them to install the client and 10 hotfixes! So I want to send them a client with the hotfixes slipstreamed.

If anyone reads this, still looking for a solution.

  • autoupdate will check for any license / mostly update on server , but you can apply on client as well

Remon,  this solution will is much better but still improving day by day.

for more hotfixes you have to contat to MS.
