I had to uninstall genuine advantage (uninstall by removing registry settings, unregistering a dll, and removing several other executables) because it's behavior would crash other applications. It seems genuine advantage and the way it hooks itself in memory causes fatal application failures.
What I don't understand is once the software has been validated, why does it have to continually attempt to re-validate?
I just subsribed to Live OneCare earlier this week, and now my computer is showing that my computer status is only fair because I don't have the genuine advantage installed. There is no way to block this update. How frustrating.
I suppose I will have to cancel Live OneCare and find another patch solution that will allow me to block the genuine advantage.
