Synctoycmd.exe doesn't recognize the Sync Framework RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am able to synchronize successfully using the ful UI, but when I run synctoycmd.exe -R I get the following error.

"It seems you may have uninstalled the required Microsoft Sync Framework
components for SyncToy. Please re-run SyncToy 2.0 setup from the original setup location."

I have re-isntalled several times, have installed the 2.0 Framework (which won't work at all!!) and completely removed Synctoy 2.0 and all Sync Framework Components and reinstalled.  I have also installed and attempted run using local administrator credentials and I am still able to sync if I use the UI, but not using the cmd, which makes scheduling difficult.

    O/S = XP SP 2.

I have searched the forums, Google groups, general Internet and see no mention of this error.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi -

We have never seen this problem before either - being unable to run using the command line but succesfully running through the UI. I assume you are running the SyncToy Cmd.exe from the same location that you are running SyncToy.exe ? If you are using shortcuts to run the UI - do figure out the location that you are running from.

    Thanks
