Trouble some files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Last night while surfing the net I accidentally opened a file called Security Tool.  This file took over my computer and finally I was able to restore my system to 3/11/2010.  I am afraid that these files are still on my computer but I can't find them.  My question is have you ever heard of this file and how do I rid my computer form this "Security Tool"?  Thanks...

  • Security Tool is a rogue antivirus program. If System Restore alleviated the symptoms you should be ok. You should also delete your temporary internet files.I would recommend a malware scan but most scanners won't detect Security Tool anyway. If the pop ups return you can contact support for help with removal.
