Recognition points for Visual Studio Market Place contributions no longer accurate

Question
-
I have a number of contributions to the Visual Studio Market Place, all of which can be found here
The recognition rules from here state the following:
Your gallery contribution was downloaded 20 times. +20 Your gallery contribution was downloaded 50 times. +50 Your gallery contribution was downloaded 100 times. +100 Your gallery contribution was downloaded 1,000 times. +500
This would mean I have 3330 points whereas my profile is showing 1960 points.
Is there something wrong with the recognition system ?

It may also be the case that only contributions to the TechNet Gallery count toward recognition points. I suspect the Visual Studio Market Place is not monitored for points.

Hi Greg,
Sorry for the delay. This is Harish from the VS Marketplace team.
Since the time VS extensions have started showing on VS Marketplace (i.e. more than 6 months now) the recognition points for VS extensions are no longer being updated. We know this and this is a harsh reality. Sorry if you deeply cared about it.
We are currently in the process of migrating the VS IDE extension publishing & management to VS Marketplace. Once this completes, you (and all other VS extension publishers) would no longer go to VS Gallery. We will make proper announcements once the time is right. However expect this to happen within this calendar year.
Once above migration completes, we can holistically target connecting a publisher to his/her MSDN profile in the Marketplace. Please put an item at https://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/331878-visual-studio-marketplace if you desire so.
Other useful stats for VS IDE extensions such acquisitions, Q&A, and Ratings can be accessed through VS Marketplace today. Read more at the following links. Make sure to sign in at VS Marketplace using the same login that you do at VS Gallery.

I think Richard is correct, points in that system are not associated with MSDN / Technet recognition system. May want to further here.

It is possible. I'd send an email to fissues [at] microsoft [dot] com with details so they can investigate.
