Can't delete AD group from HPC Users after that group was deleted in AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have an AD group that was added with Administrator role to HPC Users. Later this group was deleted from AD. So now when I try to delete this group from HPC Users, (right click on group and select Remove) I have an error "Failed to resolve user name".

This "broken" group leads to constant configuration updates on compute nodes, so I would like to delete it.

I tried to create new AD group with the same name, after that, the error does not appear but the group still can not be removed. I guess that happens because new AD group has another SID.

    I have HPC Pack 2012 R2, Server version 4.5.5079.0.

Please advise, how to delete this "broken" group from HPC users?

  • Thank you, after installation of that patch I was able to remove "broken" user from HPC Users.

One more thing about that Update. After update was installed on all nodes, when I go to HPC Cluster Manager and look in Resource Management to the list of nodes, the Version of nodes is still 4.5.5079.0. So at first I thought that Update was not installed, but when I connect via RDP to any node and launch Cluster Manager -> About, I see that client version is 4.5.5158.0, i.e. the Update is installed.
