How can I install second CRM 4 on same server

Question
-
I need one customized CRM and another CRM without any customization on same server for testing. I have installed 2 SQL Server 2008 instance and one CRM4 on one Windows Server 2008. How can I install another CRM4 (App Server, Platform Server) on this server? CRM 4 only allow me repair or uninstall it. If I only create new Organizations in Deployment Manager, how can I create another CRM web site which will be totally different with first one?Friday, September 17, 2010 7:48 PM

The simple answer is that you can't achieve this on the one server, and your only option would be to install CRM on a second server. Note that changing the CRM pages (e.g. loader.aspx) is unsupported, so it's not particularly surprising that the CRM architecture is not designed to allow this

you have to create new organization for you testing environment. Just go to Deployment Manager and create new organization.
you can customize this deployment accordingly.

Hi,
Multi-tenency is the feature of CRM 4.0.
It helps you to setup multiple organisations on the same server. You don't need to install multiple CRM4 (App Server, Platform Server). You should use the multi-tenency feature .
Hope his helps.

Thank you guys for your information. I created second Organization, but I still have my problem: I want one tenant keeps original CRM, but the second will be customized including page changes like loader.aspx, bar_top.aspx; plug-ins registration and pre-defined workflows and entities. If I change those things, both tenants will be changed. How can I keep one change and another no change?Monday, September 20, 2010 7:06 PM
