Ordering of images in Structured Panorama RRS feed

  • Question

  • When ICE reads images for Structured Panorama, how are they initially arranged? By file date? Exif date? File name?

The reason for the question is that I wonder what will happen if I pre-process the images: do I need to keep the sequential file names, keep original Exif (Create Date?) or do something else.

  • Hello.

Eric's answer on this thread describes how files are ordered http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ice/thread/a3e0cf0a-23f7-4496-8f81-285a9e34ad5c  Note the slight difference between XP and newer version of Windows.

  • Thanks,

Just to make sure I understand: notwithstanding XP quirk, ICE Structured Panorama will use the files in the order they are sorted in the Open File window - so for instance if I sort them by name, or date, or extension, or size (for whatever reason) they will be parsed in this order to ICE.  Is this true?

  • That is correct in Vista and beyond the order on images into structured panorama is the same as the sort order in the Open file window.
