Browstat problem with error 87 (The parameter is incorrect) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a problem with only one Windows 2003 server SP2. We have 3 DC (connected all at the same switch). All computer and server are able to browse network. But only one DC (without any FSMO role) have problem. It see itself in "My network place". The result of browstat status is the following :

Status for domain CEPA on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{A422671C-6A89-4ABB-8C34
        Browsing is active on domain.
        Master browser name is: DCSRV01
Master browser is running build 3790
3 backup servers retrieved from master DCSRV01
Unable to retrieve server list from DCSRV01: 87

We have actually 3 network card. One is an IBM one used for remote console the second one is disabled and the third one that is currently used for our network.

I have tried many things.. Reinstalling "File & Sharing". Removing from browstat other network card binding (only the IBM one, it is not in the same subnet). We have another server exactly configured with the same network card and it have no problem with network browsing.

The DCSRV01 server is not multi-homed (only one IP and one network adapter)

    If I do : browstat view 1 DOMAIN 0x80000000

I receive the following information :

Remoting NetServerEnum to \\DCSRV02 on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{A422671C-
    6A89-4ABB-8C34-B197C70B8BCD} with flags 80000000
Unable to remote API to \\DCSRV02 on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{A422671C-6A
    89-4ABB-8C34-B197C70B8BCD}: The parameter is incorrect.
     (0 milliseconds)

Is somebody can help us with this ? I think that all is arround this "87" netbios error "The parameter is incorrect".

    Thanks in advance,
